Saigon (Ho Chi Mihn City)
Saigon is a brash, fast-paced, entrepreneurial city. Regarded as one of the richest, most advanced and sophisticated cities in Asia before the war, it came under heavy suppression after it’s fall in 1975. Many of the entrepreneures and intellectuals who didn’t make it out to the West were jailed or put in reeducation camps.
Today, however, Siagon’s former capitalists are firmly back in control and running the city they lost 3 decades ago. EVERYONE is an entrepreneur in Siagon. If you have a Tupperware full of cigarettes and Kleenexes, you have a portable store!
